We commend to Our Lord and announce the death of

 

The Rev'd Jerry Melson Doublisky, CSSS

 

The Rev'd. Jerry Melson Doublisky, retired priest of this diocese, died
Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at his residence in Atco, New Jersey. 

   

He was born in Burlington, New Jersey, on April 29, 1937, the son of Thomas
Raymond and Evelyn Elizabeth Doublisky. He was a 1969 graduate of The
College of New Jersey and a 1972 graduate of the Philadelphia Divinity
School. He was ordained Deacon by the Rt. Rev. Alfred L. Banyard, VII Bishop
of New Jersey, on April 22, 1972, and Priest on October 28, 1972, by Bishop
Banyard.

 

He served as Vicar of St. Peter's, Woodbury Heights; as Vicar of Church of
the Atonement, Laurel Springs; Rector of Christ Church, South Amboy; Interim
of St. Luke's. Woodstown; Vicar of Christ the King, Willingboro; Interim at
Holy Trinity, Collingswood; as Minister of Evangelism at St. Stephen's,
Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; and Priest in Charge of St.
Mark's-at-the-Crossing, Williamstown.

He was Deputy Director of the Episcopal World Mission in NYC for two years.
Most recently, he was the Chaplain of the retired clergy of the Diocese. He
was a member of the Congregation of the Companions of the Holy Saviour
(CSSS) a well established order for celibate men in Holy Orders.

 

Funeral arrangements are made by the Bradley Funeral Home and will be held
at Christ Church, 130 Prince Street, Bordentown, on Saturday, March 21,
2009. There will be visitation from 10 -11 AM, followed by the Holy
Eucharist and Commendation. Burial will be private and at the convenience of
the family.
