Dear Colleague in Ministry,
>From May 30 to June 2, we all have an exceptional opportunity to inform and
unify our congregations and communities about a global issue that is
devastating the lives of children in Africa. How? By encouraging our
staff, members, friends and youth to “step into Africa” via “World Vision
Experience Africa: AIDS,” a multi-media, interactive exhibit. Exhibit
tours take up to 30 minutes as visitors are transported into a sub-Sahara
village and the life of a child. The exhibit will visit 80 cities in 2008.
Selected by World Vision -- a non-profit humanitarian organization -- as
the only Delaware Valley site, First Presbyterian Church cordially invites
your participation in several ways:
- Free Tickets. We hope that all who are interested will reserve tickets
at www.worldvisionexperience.org. Please see the attached Exhibit Fact
Sheet for times.
(Note: parental discretion is advised for children under age 12.)
- Pastors’ Breakfast on Friday, May 30, at 8 am. I cordially invite you
and your associates to hear Rev. Emmanuel Mutangana, a former World
Vision-sponsored child, share his dream of achieving double graduate
degrees at Georgetown University after fleeing ethnic violence in Rwanda
with his family. The breakfast will be followed by personal tours of the
Experience Exhibit. Please RSVP.*
- Youth Coffee House on Friday, May 30, from 6 to 9 pm. Teens and youth
groups will hear Emmanuel’s dramatic story and tour the Exhibit. Special
music, tactile activities and refreshments will provide an opportunity to
share and express their responses to the journey of an AIDS-affected child.
Please RSVP.*
- Help Spread the Word. We would be pleased to make available the
following materials for your ministry - send me an email or give us a call
and we'll put them in the mail to you:
