The following kits all contain items necessary when entering a home in the disaster area. Groups of any size or age can assemble these kits. If you are interested in collecting items listed below to send to the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana, please contact Holly Heine (hheine@stjamesbr.org) in the Office of Disaster Response for the most current needs as well as a shipping destination.
First Aid Kit (contents suggested by Red Cross for a single family)
(20) adhesive bandages, various sizes
(1) 5" x 9" sterile dressing
(1) conforming roller gauze bandage
(2) triangular bandages
(2) 3 x 3 sterile gauze pads
(2) 4 x 4 sterile gauze pads
(1) roll 3" cohesive bandage.
(2) germicidal hand wipes or waterless alcohol-based hand sanitizer
(6) antiseptic wipes
(2) pair large medical grade non-latex gloves
Adhesive tape, 2" width
Anti-bacterial ointment
Cold pack
Scissors (small, personal)
Tweezers
CPR breathing barrier, such as a face shield
Insect repellant
Protective Gear Kits
In a 3 gallon bucket collect:
Bleach concentrate tablets
Harmful Dust Repellant masks (as found at Home Depot)
Disposable gloves
Heavy Duty work gloves, with leather palm
Safety Goggles
Eveready 6 Volt lantern
Hand wipes
Insect repellant
Personal Care Kits
Paper Towels (one roll)
Toilet Paper (one roll)
Hand wipes
Hand sanitizer
Mosquito repellant
