Bishop's Blog: EYE wrap-up

I am so grateful for this group. It is I who should be handing gifts to them: to all of our young people, for their faithful participation and their observance of the 'Community Covenant' of Personal Responsibility here at EYE; to Bob Broughton and Debi Clarke, for taking vacation time and time off of work to be here and for their long hours and constant love and care for our young people; and to Kep Short, for organizing us and leading us and helping us to get the very best we can out of this amazing opportunity.

Dear friends in Christ (Thabo, Olivia, Jeff, Dan, Rachael, Liz, Dnika, Cass*e, Gordon, Bob, Debi and Kep), I came to support you. But you have supported me and given me hope and encouragement for our Church.

When I was administering Communion at the Hip Hop E Mass, I looked into the eyes of each young person. And I thought: 'Senior Warden? Deacon? Priest? Bishop? Presiding Bishop?' And so I pray, 'Lord, let each one catch your Spirit. And let their gifts and leadership be blessed, for the building up of your Church and for your compassion and justice to be advanced in the world.'

Amen. Word!
