Summary of the meeting of the Standing Committee on November 20, 2008

• Recommended J. Matthew Tucker for ordination to the priesthood.
• Approved the sale of the Arlington Lot belonging to Trinity Church, Cranford.
• Approved the 2009 housing allowance for clergy employed at Diocesan House who are not provided housing.
• Received and approved the Aged & Infirm Clergy Fund Report for 2009.
• Received and approved the Report of the Relief of Widows, Widowers and Orphans Fund for 2009.

Summary of the meeting of the Standing Committee on October 16, 2008

• Recommended Justin Falciani, James B. Bates, and Charlotte Wells for ordination to the priesthood.
• Consented to the Ordination of the Rev. Herman Hollerith, IV as Diocesan Bishop of the Diocese of Southern Virginia.

Summary of the meeting of the Standing Committee on September 25, 2008

• Affirmed the consent to the Ordination of Brian James Thom as Diocesan Bishop of the Diocese of Idaho.
• Affirmed the consent to the Ordination of Charles Andrew Doyle as Bishop Coadjutor of the Diocese of Texas.
• Affirmed the consent to an increase in the mortgage for the Church of St. John-on-the-Mountain, Bernardsville.
• Authorized permission for the city of Bordentown to install a drain pipe in the upper portion of Christ Church, Bordentown’s property.

Summary of the meeting of the Standing Committee on June 12, 2008

• Recommended Judith Krom for candidacy to the vocational diaconate.
• Recommended Stephanie Shockley for candidacy to the priesthood.
• Recommended a Resolution proposed by the Companion Diocese Committee be presented at Diocesan Convention in 2009 for consideration.
• Authorized the sale of the rectory at St. James’, Edison, with the stipulation that monies go to purchase a new rectory.

Summary of the meeting of the Standing Committee on May 15, 2008

• Consented to the Ordination of the Rev. Canon Eugene Taylor Sutton as Bishop of Maryland.
• Consented to the Ordination of the Rev. Paul Emil Lambert as Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of Dallas.
• Recommended David Lawson-Beck and Christopher Cox for candidacy to the vocational diaconate.
• Recommended Charlotte Wells for ordination to the diaconate.

• Consented to the election of a Bishop Coadjutor for the Diocese of Ecuador Central.
• Recommended Justin Falciani, John Hartman, Matthew Tucker and Brent Bates for ordination to the diaconate.
• Approved the 2008 Financial Aid Awards.

Summary of the meeting of the Standing Committee on March 1, 2008

• Welcomed the newly elected members of the Class of 2012: The Very Rev. René John and Ms. Annette Buchanan.
• The Rev. Mark H. Chattin was elected President and The Very Rev. René John was elected Secretary of the Standing Committee for the coming year.
• The Honorable Robert Scott will coordinate the real estate business for the Standing Committee for the coming year.
• Consented to the appointment of the Rt. Rev. Sylvestre D. Romero as Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of New Jersey.
• Consented to the election of The Rev. Dr. Prince Singh as Bishop of the Diocese of Rochester.

Summary of the meeting of the Standing Committee on February 21, 2008

• Endorsed re-appointment of John Wood Goldsack, Esq. as Chancellor.
  Approved Pastoral Direction.
• Approved the brochure for Aged and Infirm Clergy and Widows and Orphans of Clergy Fund.
• Consented to the election of a Coadjutor in the Diocese of South Dakota.
• Consented to the election of a Bishop Coadjutor in the Diocese of Texas.
• Unanimously recommended Joseph Sweeney and Carmen Viola for candidacy to the vocational diaconate.
• Thanked the members of the Class of 2008: The Rev. Terrence W. Rosheuvel, President, and Mr. Charles Perfater, who managed the property matters.

Summary of the meeting of the Standing Committee on January 24, 2008

• Approved the compensation package for Bishop Councell for 2008 as proposed by the Finance & Budget Committee and approved by Diocesan Council.
• Consented to create the position of Assistant Bishop and seek the approval of Diocesan Convention in accordance with Title III, Canon 12, Section 5.
• Consented to the Ordination of The Rev. Canon Stephen Taylor Lane as Bishop Coadjutor of the Diocese of Maine.
• Unanimously recommended Rosemarie Broderick and Susan Cushinotto for candidacy to the vocational diaconate.
